Yesterday, the 1515 woodcut 'The Rhinoceros', by German Renaissance artist Albrecht Dürer sold for a record $866,500 at Christie's in New York. The work was was part of a 62-lot sale of Dürer prints consigned by an anonymous European collector.
The previous record for Dürer was $653,336 for 'Adam and Eve', which sold in 2011.
